Club Marianao entered the Cuban Professional League in the 1922-23 season under the leadership of Baldomero "Merito" Acosta. It eventually would win the Championship in its first season. They would win again in 1936-37 under the stellar batting and pitching of Player-Manager Martin Dihigo. In 27 Championships in which Club Marianao participated, they finished first 4 times, second 6 times, third 7 times and fourth 10 times.
