Club Cienfuegos first participated in the Cuban Professional League Championship in the 1926-27 season. They would win their first Championship in 1929-30. A strong team anchored by Negro League legends Jimmy "Cool Papa" Bell, Willie Wells, and Frank Duncan. Their next Championship would be won in 1945-46 by a team managed by Cuban legend Adolfo Luque. The team was anchored by Cuban greats Martin Dihigo, Luis Tiant, Napoleon Reyes, Silvio Garcia and Alejandro Oms in his final season. In 26 Championships in which Club Cienfuegos participated, they finished first 5 times, second 6 times, third 7 times and fourth 8 times.
