In 1925 as part of the traditional American Series, that pitted Cuban teams versus teams visiting from the US, a squad of All-Americans faced an All-Cubans team for a set of 8 games. The All-Americans, also called the Yankees, filled their roster with some of the best Negro League players of the time. They faced an All-Star team of Cubans, also called the Criollos. It was not even close. The All-Americans won 5 and lost only 2 with one game ending in a tie. Managing the All-Americans was John H. (Pop) Lloyd who also played first base. The All-Cubans were co-managed by Adolfo Luque and Miguel Angel Gonzalez, both players were under a ban on Winter Ball play. The order had come from Judge Landis who was visiting Cuba at the time.

The All-Cubans win the first game of the series 6 to 5. Emilio Palmero, gets the win for the All-Cubans, outpitching Rats Henderson. The offensive heroes for the Cubans were Dreke, Ramos, Cueto and Joseito.

Game 2: Saturday, February 7, 1925
The All-Americans even the series with a 6 to 0 victory. Bullet Rogan pitched a complete game shutout defeating Oscar Levis. Rogan also made his mark at the plate going 2-4 and scoring 2 runs. other offensive heroes for the All-Americans were Holloway (3-4) and Warfield (2-4).

Game 3: Sunday, February 8, 1925
The third game of the series was declared "Judge Landis Day". The Baseball Commisioner witnessed the All-Americans defeating the All-Cubans 2 to 1 in a tight contest. Andy Cooper pitched a complete game, allowing only one run on 7 hits, for the victory. Jose Mendez was the losing pitcher lasting only 5 innings. The offensive heroes for the All-Americans were Holloway (2-4) and Mackey (2-2).

Game 4: Monday, February 8, 1925
The All-Americans win again with a 7 to 4 victory. Bill Holland got the win and Oscar Levis the loss. The offensive heroes for the All-Americans were Thomas (3-3), Lundy (2-3) and Warfield (3-5). Joseito Rodriguez went 3-4 for the Cubans.

Game 5: Thursday, February 12, 1925
The All-Cubans win their second game of the series 10 to 3. Jose Mendez, gets the win for the All-Cubans. Red Ryan was the loser. Montalvo, Quintana and Fernandez all homered for the Cubans.

The All-Americans win again with a 2 to 1 victory. Rats Henderson pitched a masterfull 2 hitter for the win. Emilio Palmero got the loss. Lloyd doubled and scored the winning run.

Game 7: Monday, February 16, 1925
The All-Americans win their 5th game 6 to 4. Bill Holland, gets the win for the All-Americans. Martin Dihigo was the loser. The offensive heroes for the All-Americans were Lloyd (2-2) and Pepper (2-4). Fernandez and Chacon went 2-4, for the Cubans.

Game 8: Monday, February 16, 1925
The second game of the double header and last game of the series ended in a 7 to 7 tie. Red Ryan pitched for the All-Americans. Mirabal, Mendez and Dihigo pitched for the All-Cubans. The offensive heroes for the All-Americans were Lundy (4-4), Lloyd (2-3) and Mackey (2-4). Jose Ramos went 3-3, Chacon and Dreke went 2-4, for the Cubans.
