1987 Team Cuba loses to Team USA in early round of the Pan American Games but wins in finals. Beginning a streak of 150 straight wins over ten years in official International competition...Orestes Destrade and Nelson Santovenia make their debut...Jose Martinez is named coach of the Chicago Cubs (1987-93). Tony Perez is named coach of the Cincinnati Reds (1987-92)...Cookie Rojas was elected to the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame.
