1910 Punch Cards:
The Philadelphia Athletics and Detroit Tigers played a long series of games against Cuban teams starting in November of 1910. This time Detroit brought Ty Cobb, Hugh Jennings, Wild Bill Donovan and Ed Summers among others. The World Champion Athletics brought aces Jack Coombs, Chief Bender and Eddie Plank. Havana added John Henry Lloyd, Bruce Petway and Homerun Johnson. Almendares had pretty much the same team.
Punch cards were to produce for both the Detroit and Philadelphia series. Examples have been seen of the Cubans and players from both Detroit and Philadelpia. A Ty Cobb card is known to exist. The cards consist of a photo card pasted onto a cardboard backing. Many of the examples seen today are missing the cardboard backing.
The Detroit roster, from a game played on December 1, 1910, consisted of the following players: G. Schaeffer, C. O'Leary, T. Cobb, S. Crawford, G. Moriarty, T. Jones, M. Mcintyre, O. Stanage and E. Summers. The Almendares roster consisted of: A. Marsans, A. Cabaņas, R. Valdez, R. Almeida, E. Palomino, G. Gonzalez, H. Hidalgo, J. Castillo, A. Cabrera, E. Pedroso and J. Muņoz.
The Athletics roster, from a game played on December 10, 1910 consisted of the following players: T. Hartsel, B. Lord, S. McInnis, D. Murphy, H. Davis, J. Barry, C. Derrick, I. Thomas and E. Plank. The Habana roster consisted of: C. Moran, P. Hill, Johnson, J. Lloyd, B. Petway, A. Parpetti, R. Hernandez, L. Padron, L. Gonzalez and L. Mederos.
