1923-24 Nacionales
The set pictures mostly players from the 1923-24 Cuban Professional League. Numbered C 21-60, the baseball cards are part of a much larger set that pictures other sports and actors. Printed on glossy paper the cards were meant to be glued into an album. Many cards today are found with backs with glue stains or tears from being taken out of an album. The front of the cards display a black and white portrait of the player with the card number and players name (either the last name or nick name) below the photo. The card edges have a distinctive black border. The team breakdown is as follows: Almendares (21 to 36), Habana (37 to 44 & 55 to 59), Marianao (45 to 49), and Santa Clara (50 to 52). Also pictured in the set are two umpires (53 & 55) and a mascot (60). There are two photo errors in the set: card 27 photo Cheo Ramos and card 28 photo Lucas Boada. The cards measure 1-5/8x2-1/5". Beware of fakes identifiable by a lighter color border. Complete Set: (40) Click here for printable checklist (PDF).
